We're excited to kick off our public programming by participating in Bay View Gallery Night: one of Milwaukee's largest and most beloved celebrations of local art. We'll be hosting a curated showcase of book and print work in our beautiful gallery and sales area on June 25th, 2021 from 5pm to 9pm.
Please join us: details will be posted shortly on our social media (@binderymke.com)

CALL FOR ART: BAY VIEW GALLERY NIGHT
CALL FOR SHOW SUBMISSIONS
Book art, Artists’ Books, and Traditional Print work
For this showcase we are looking for art in book-like form that goes beyond the everyday expectation of what a book is. Book art celebrates the entire book as an object, format, and experience: more-so than just a simple container for information.
Artists’ books are not just books that contain art: more often they are one-off pieces, or made in small, limited editions. They are typically produced by hand with artistic intent and materiality in mind, with many techniques used from the traditional to modern. They can be in codex format, or other experimental or historic layouts. These are the types of works we would love to see at Gallery Night this season.
We’d also like to showcase hand-created print work made by the artist, with a focus on traditional print practices: letterpress, lithography, engraving, screen print, lino/woodcut, (etc.) or any combination thereof. These may be gallery-hung items like prints and broadsides (framed or unframed), or items to be shelf or table displayed. (In the case of the former please provide your own means of proper display.)
If you have questions on whether your work is appropriate to submit for this show (or any other thoughts) please reach out to info@binderymke.com.
Please submit up to three pieces for review using the form linked below, keeping the following deadlines and terms in mind. All or some of your work may be accepted due to space and other curatorial considerations. We will be prioritizing local works (Milwaukee County), and seek a diversity of voices, experience levels, and mediums.
