Milwaukee Zine Fest turns 15 this year! To celebrate we'll be bigger and better than ever with two floors of vendors, a run-up event, and an after party.
Check out the full schedule below: everything is 100% free and open to the public.
On April 16th, swing by The Bindery for Slow Mörn, a monthly free, casual gathering hosted by our building-mates, bearbear.
Bring zines to share or zines to work on with others. It's a chance to exchange creativity and space in the run-up to the main event!
4/16, 10am to noon. Click above for details.
Our friends at Lion's Tooth Bookstore will host a post-fest celebration featuring a special display of The Museum of the Unintentional by Justine Kern.
In honor of MZF, a one-of-a-kind zine will serve as program and companion during your unique visit to Justin's "uncollection," and Lion's Tooth itself!

SWAP & SHARE
Part of zine community ethos involves sharing, trading, and swapping. MZF encourages this by having a swap table set up. Stop by to leave a zine and take a zine in order to share with others.
This is *not* a "free zine" table and and we ask the community to respect this. In order to take a zine, you need to leave one in its place.
Suggested zine value of $1 to $5 only, to help keep things feelin' fair :)
CREATIVE BUTTON MAKING for all
Stop by the activity area for collaging a button; great for all ages.
The Makerspace Team from Milwaukee Public Library will be here to help you design and machine-produce your very own button. Come by all day long.
10AM TO 1PM
FOR KIDS: PRINT & BUTTON MAKING
Geared towards youngsters up to 12 and hosted by MPL library staff: come make a button or print with other young folks and famillies!
FIRST FLOOR COMMUNITY ROOM
Zinester panel Discussion: Favorite tips & tricks
Our popular panel/Q&A with fest tablers, moderated by Cris Siqueira, co-owner of Lion's Tooth Bookstore. This year's guest speakers are the fabulous Ladasia Bryant, Natalie Honan, Julia Warner, and Maixia Xiong. We'll hear about some of their favorite insider hacks and tricks for zine making! Q&A to follow.
Can't find the community room? That's ok: it's a bit tucked away. Feel free to ask a staffer or meet at the top of the grand staircase at 11:55am to be escorted.
WALK-UP zine Screenprinting Demo
Get inky with our talented friends from MIAD's own student Zine Club! Learn about screenprinting, watch a demo of a zine getting made, then fold and take home your very own!
Stop by this activity table any time between 1pm and 4pm to see screenprinting in action.
FIRST FLOOR COMMUNITY ROOM
Funky folded books
Some zines meander, have hidden nooks, or work as pocket pop-ups. Learn how to make various book styles from a single sheet of paper by simply cutting and folding in a variety of ways. No sewing, gluing, or even taping necessary.
All materials and tools supplied, but space is limited to 30ish folks:
Can't find the community room? That's ok: it's a bit tucked away. Feel free to ask a staffer or meet at the top of the grand staircase at 1:55pm to be escorted.
Throughout Saturday (and beyond) please share your experience, your zines, your own events, links, and anything you learned during MZF using the hashtag #MZF2023 across your social platforms.
We'd love to see what you're up to and help share it with our community!
